Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician to join our healthcare team in Prescott, AZ, 86301 for a 13 Week Contract. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing laboratory tests and procedures that assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires a strong understanding of laboratory operations, as well as proficiency in various laboratory techniques and equipment.
Duties
- Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests, including PCR, RNA extraction, and various assays.
- Perform venipuncture to collect blood samples from patients.
- Ensure accurate processing of specimens in accordance with established laboratory procedures.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and perform regular quality control checks to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide timely and accurate test results.
- Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures within the laboratory environment.
- Document results accurately in laboratory information systems and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Participate in blood banking procedures as required, ensuring compliance with hospital regulations.
Experience
- Proven experience working in a clinical or hospital laboratory setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures, including flow cytometry and physiology knowledge, is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare team members.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.
