Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care & Support:

Assist patients with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, and mobility.
Monitor patients’ vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team.

• Clinical Assistance:

Provide support during medical procedures and exams, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Perform basic medical tasks such as taking vitals, assisting with wound care, and other nursing tasks as directed.

• Patient Monitoring:

Observe and monitor patients’ conditions, including their heart rate, blood pressure, and other vital signs.
Help with the management of telemetry devices and report any abnormalities.

• Documentation & Charting:

Maintain accurate patient records using Cerner charting system.
Ensure that all documentation is up to date and accurate.

• Team Collaboration:

Float between Med/Surg and Telemetry units at Mercy Downtown and the sister facility, Mercy Southwest, ensuring that all patients receive high-quality care.
Work closely with RNs, physicians, and other healthcare staff to support patient care plans and improve outcomes.

• Infection Control & Safety:

Follow infection control protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of both patients and staff.
Assist in maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Qualifications:

• 2 years of acute care experience in Med/Surg, Telemetry, or a similar setting is required.
• Current CNA certification in California.
• BLS (AHA) certification required.
• Cerner charting system experience is a must.
• No BSN required.

Shift & Schedule:

• Shift Length: 12-Hour Day Shifts
• Schedule: 36 hours per week, including weekends.
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week.
• Floating: This position will require floating between all Med/Surg/Tele units at both Mercy Downtown and Mercy Southwest (approximately 6 miles away).
