Job Summary
As an OR RN, you will provide perioperative nursing care, ensuring patient safety and readiness for surgical procedures. You will collaborate closely with the surgical team to deliver high-quality care and maintain a sterile and efficient operating environment.
Duties
- Assess and prepare patients for surgical procedures.
- Maintain a sterile field and adhere to aseptic techniques during surgeries.
- Assist surgeons and other team members during operations.
- Monitor patient vitals and provide immediate interventions when necessary.
- Document patient information and surgical procedures accurately in electronic health records (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Handle and manage surgical instruments and supplies efficiently.
- Provide postoperative care, ensuring patient comfort and recovery.
- Comply with infection control and safety standards at all times.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an OR RN in an acute care or surgical setting.
- Experience in general surgery, orthopedics, or specialized surgical procedures is preferred.
Requirements
- Active ME RN license or compact state RN license.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- CNOR certification is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, critical thinking, and communication skills.
