Key Responsibilities
- Assist in Therapy Sessions: Work closely with physical therapists to implement treatment plans designed to improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore function. SimplyHired
- Patient Assessments: Interview patients, perform physical examinations, and update therapy histories to contribute to effective treatment planning. Weave
- Therapeutic Exercises: Instruct and assist patients in performing exercises, including manual and non-manual activities, to enhance strength and mobility. Weave
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patient progress, treatments administered, and any changes in condition. Weave
- Patient Education: Educate patients on therapeutic exercises, preventative care, and home routines to encourage long-term recovery.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Licensure: Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in Oklahoma.
- Experience: Experience in a skilled nursing or clinical setting is preferred but not required.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Certification: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is a plus.
