About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Case Manager (Utilization Review) for a 13-week contract in Bakersfield, CA. This position focuses on coordinating patient care, ensuring appropriate resource utilization, and facilitating efficient patient transitions while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
✔ Perform utilization reviews to ensure medical necessity and appropriate care levels.
✔ Collaborate with physicians, patients, and insurance providers to coordinate care and discharge planning.
✔ Evaluate patient care plans to ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.
✔ Identify and resolve potential care barriers, ensuring timely patient transitions.
✔ Document reviews, patient assessments, and care plans accurately and promptly.
✔ Provide patient and family education regarding care plans and post-discharge needs.
Qualifications Required:
✅ Active and unrestricted California RN license.
✅ Minimum of 2 years of experience in Case Management and Utilization Review.
✅ Current BLS certification.
✅ Proficiency in utilization review and case management software.
Preferred:
✔ Certified Case Manager (CCM) or ACM preferred.
✔ Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance guidelines.
✔ Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
