About the Role
We are seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week contract in a ER Unit in Devil's Lake, ND, 58301. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to provide essential patient care in a behavioral health setting.
Key Responsibilities
✔ The ER nurse conducts triage to quickly assess the severity of each patient’s condition. They assign priority levels to determine who needs immediate care and who can wait.
✔ The nurse measures and monitors vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, and oxygen saturation. Changes in vital signs can indicate a worsening condition that needs urgent intervention.
✔ER nurses administer medications (such as pain relief, antibiotics, anticoagulants, and antiarrhythmics) and IV fluids based on the patient's condition and physician orders.
✔ Nurses assist in cleaning, dressing, and suturing wounds, as well as providing first aid for burns, fractures, and cuts.
✔ For patients presenting with chest pain, the nurse follows established protocols, including administering aspirin, blood thinners, and performing electrocardiograms (ECGs).
Qualifications Required:
✅ Active and unrestricted ND RN License.
✅ Minimum of 2 years of RN experience (ER experience preferred).
✅ Current BLS certification.
