Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care & Support:
- Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and provide care to patients based on nursing protocols.
- Administer prescribed treatments and medications while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Clinical Assistance:
- Assist physicians and nursing staff in procedures and exams.
- Maintain sterile conditions and prepare instruments and equipment as needed.
- Perform routine diagnostic tests, such as blood draws, EKGs, and other monitoring tasks.
- Patient Education:
- Educate patients about their conditions, prescribed medications, and care plans.
- Provide guidance on chronic disease management and preventive care.
- Administrative Duties:
- Update and maintain accurate patient records in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating appointments, referrals, and patient follow-ups.
- Medication & Treatment Management:
- Administer medications and treatments as per physician orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Monitor for adverse reactions and report findings to the appropriate healthcare provider.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with physicians, RNs, and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate to improve care plans and patient outcomes.
- Emergency Response:
- Provide emergency care and CPR as necessary, stabilizing patients for transfer to higher levels of care if required.
- Respond to codes and emergencies with a calm, focused, and professional approach.
- Infection Control & Safety:
- Follow infection prevention protocols and ensure a clean, safe working environment for all.
- Adhere to policies for safe medication administration and biohazard waste disposal.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan (don’t leave home without it!).
- Med/Surg experience is preferred, but we’re open to enthusiastic RNs eager to learn.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Excellent communication skills (bonus points for a great sense of humor!).
