About the Role

We are seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week contract in a Utilization Review Unit in Omaha, NE, 68122 . This position offers a rewarding opportunity to provide essential patient care in a behavioral health setting.

Key Responsibilities

✔ The UR nurse reviews patient medical records to evaluate the treatments and services provided. They ensure that the care is appropriate and aligned with the patient's condition, diagnosis, and medical needs.

✔ One of the core tasks of the UR nurse is to determine if the medical services provided are medically necessary. This means assessing whether a treatment, procedure, or hospitalization is required based on the patient's diagnosis and the severity of the illness or condition.

✔Utilization Review nurses often use established clinical guidelines and criteria (such as InterQual or Milliman Care Guidelines) to help determine the necessity and appropriateness of services.

✔ UR nurses may recommend alternative care options, suggest adjustments to treatment plans, or collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure the most efficient and appropriate care is provided.

✔ If a service is deemed unnecessary or if an insurance company denies coverage, the UR nurse may appeal the decision or work with the healthcare team to find alternative treatments.

Qualifications Required:

✅ Active and unrestricted AZ RN License.

✅ Minimum of 2 years of RN experience (NICU experience preferred).

✅ Current BLS certification.
