Job Overview
Seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that all surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained to meet stringent health and safety standards.
Job Title: Sterile Processing (SPT)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Location: Towson, MD
Shift Type: Days
Shift Times: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Hours per Day: 8
Weekend Requirements: To be determined by facility
On Call Requirements: To be determined by facility
Required Qualifications:
- 2 years of recent experience in Sterile Processing (SPT) (required).
- Must have an active Sterile Processing Technician certification for at least 2 years (required).
- BLS certification (AHA) (required).
- HSPA Certification (required).
Key Responsibilities:
- Care, handle, and store instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgery.
- Process and prepare goods for redistribution throughout the medical center.
- Assist Sterile Processing Specialists in maintaining competencies and ensuring adherence to sterile processing standards.
- Ensure the effective sterilization of instruments used in surgery, promoting a safe environment for patients and healthcare providers
Requirements
- Knowledge of sterile processing techniques and practices.
- Familiarity with anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Strong skills in inventory management to track supplies effectively.
- Ability to adhere to strict aseptic techniques in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Certification in sterile processing or related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous.
