Position Summary:
This position involves day-to-day responsibilities that require independent judgment and discretion, contributing to the department’s ongoing success, servicing and supporting account management, setting priorities, planning and establishing workflow to ensure tasks are completed accurately and timely.
Essential Functions & Basic Duties:

- Manage and service assigned book of business with a minimum of $800,000 in revenue and disseminate account activity to support staff.
- Maintain a high level of retention on assigned book of business
- Oversee, coordinate and perform day-to-day tasks relating to the servicing of books of business for the Account Executive and/or the Senior Account Executive.
- Evaluate existing coverage and make recommendations as needed
- Provide producers and clients with service needs, update existing accounts
- Works collaboratively and independently with producers and clients to service existing and new accounts
- Direct and mentor Account Specialist, Associate Account Executives and/or team associates
- Responsible for compiling and managing information regarding account renewal, rounding and cross-sell opportunities
- Ensure that all Risk Management Services are utilized as per the account revenue schedule
- Adherence and compliance and full utilization of all technology tools (i.e. EPIC, Outlook, etc.)
- May be assigned special projects from time to time Achieve objectives and goals as implemented. Meet service and sales delivery standards and perform essential functions to the quality and service standards developed by SterlingRisk
- Schedule and attend prospect and client meetings
- Schedule and participate in annual stewardship meetings
- Complete and submit applications to marketing and/or carriers; follow up to ensure timely receipt of quotations and policies in accordance with renewal/expiration list procedures
- Ensure the accuracy of binders, certificates, policies, audits, endorsements and other related items
- Determine appropriate billing/financing and processes with Associate Account Executive/Team Associate
- Ensure that summaries of insurance, schedules and proposals are generated as needed
- Process renewals according to agency procedures.
- Take lead in renewal meetings with clients, strategy determination, marketing and carrier negotiations
- Review policy audits; verifies accuracy and facilitates corrections as needed in coordination with Associate AE and Team Associate
- Identify exposure to loss and recommend appropriate coverage
- Apply proficiency of loss analysis, SIR’s Retrospective Rating/loss sensitive plans on account activity as needed
- Manage incoming mail, e-mail and phone requests, responding promptly and appropriately
- Analyze request for cancellations; acts accordingly to retain accounts
- Ensure that all policies are checked and are issued as requested at binding
- Responsible for work product produced by the account team on the assigned book of business
- Collaborates with Senior Account Executive in the performance evaluation of assigned Assistant and Team Associate
- Provide Senior Account Executive, and management with performance management issues regarding their assigned Associate Account Executive or Team Associate
- Any other duties as requested by management
- Prioritize and manage workflow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities
- Keep informed regarding industry information, new product information, legislation, coverage and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance
- Interact with others effectively utilizing oral and written communication skills, cooperating purposefully while providing information and guidance as needed to achieve the business goals of SterlingRisk
Supervisory Duties:
This job has a high level of supervisory responsibilities as it relates to mentoring, training, and directing the work of the Associate Account Executives, Account Specialist and other support staff as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Ability to proactively manage and analyze complex insurance situations, needs and options.

- Advanced knowledge of insurance products and applications
- Advanced knowledge of insurance markets and reference to markets
- Knowledge of insurance rating and underwriting procedures
- Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables
- Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, Word, EPIC and Salesforce.com
- Ability to mentor, train and direct the work of others
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent negotiation and presentation skills
- Must actively pursue and / or maintain advance insurance studies/designations
- Understanding of client servicing expectations and ability to meet objectives to excel in client servicing procedures and goals
Education and Work Experience:
- College Degree with a minimum of two years’ experience; or a minimum of five years insurance experience preferred.
- Property & Casualty License
- Experience with EPIC or Applied preferred

The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 – $150,000 annually, plus benefits, and can vary based on location.
