Our client, a growing fiber optic company who creates custom technology-based network solutions for businesses of all sizes nationwide, is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Small / Medium Business Sales Executive to join their team and drive growth in the mid-market segment within the fiber optic and telecommunications industry. The SMB SE will be responsible for managing relationships with mid-sized businesses, developing sales strategies, and driving revenue growth for their fiber optic products and services. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, relationship management, and strong technical understanding of fiber optic solutions.
As a SMB Sales Executive , you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, managing customer accounts, and delivering tailored fiber optic solutions to meet client needs. You will work closely with internal teams including Sales Engineering, Customer Success, and Product to ensure our clients receive outstanding service and optimal solutions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Sales Strategy & Execution : Develop and execute sales strategies tailored to the mid-market segment, targeting businesses with fiber optic needs for network infrastructure, connectivity, and related services.
- Client Acquisition & Retention : Drive new customer acquisition by identifying and engaging potential mid-market clients. Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with existing clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Account Management : Manage a portfolio of mid-market accounts, ensuring that each client receives personalized attention, timely support, and effective solutions that meet their specific fiber optic needs.
- Solution Selling : Work closely with prospective and current clients to understand their fiber optic and telecommunications needs, designing and delivering tailored solutions that address their unique business challenges.
- Sales Forecasting & Reporting : Track sales progress and provide regular reports on sales activities, pipeline, and account performance to senior management. Use CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
- Cross-functional Collaboration : Collaborate with internal teams such as Sales Engineering, Marketing, Product Management, and Customer Success to develop proposals, ensure product offerings meet client needs, and deliver exceptional post-sales support.
- Negotiation & Contract Management : Lead negotiations with mid-market clients, preparing proposals, service agreements, and pricing structures, ensuring profitable deals and favorable terms for both the client and the company.
- Market Intelligence : Stay informed on industry trends, competitive landscape, and new technologies in the fiber optic space. Provide valuable insights to senior leadership to inform product development and sales strategies.
- Customer Feedback & Advocacy : Act as a trusted advisor to clients, gathering feedback to improve services and solutions. Champion the client’s voice within the organization to ensure a high level of service and continuous improvement.
- Sales Enablement : Collaborate with the enablement team to ensure sales training materials, product knowledge, and customer-facing content is aligned with the latest offerings and market demands.
