What do we need?
We are looking for a motivated entry-level candidate to join our firm as a Trademark Assistant in our Mechanical & Design group. Successful Trademark Assistants love to dive into details and enthusiastically perform administrative duties. Trademark Assistants should be willing to work either remote or hybrid schedules from the DC metro area or willing to relocate to the DC metro area.
How will you make an impact?
- Providing administrative assistance to assigned practice group, including, but not limited to, uploading documents to various client portfolio management platforms, downloading and distributing incoming correspondence from the USPTO, and updating various client docketing systems.
- Assisting lawyers, paralegals, and client managers with tasks supporting the filing, prosecution, and maintenance of trademark applications at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
- Uploading and downloading data, correspondence, and task-related updates in trademark/patent tracking software (both the firm’s and clients’).
- Running reports to confirm and reconcile the accuracy of data.
- Following client-specific instructions and procedures to accurately maintain tracking spreadsheets and checklists.
- Drafting correspondence including letters to clients, foreign associates, and vendors relating to trademark prosecution and maintenance.
- Proofreading legal documents for errors.
- Building knowledge of and ability to use USPTO electronic filing systems.
- Assisting with special projects and assignments as necessary.
- Providing assistance to other practice groups as necessary.

What will you bring to the role?
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Ability to work in a highly detail-oriented and deadline-driven environment.
- Computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office and other software.
- Stellar verbal and written communication skills.
The base salary for this position is $50,000.
