The Administrative Support for Stetson Health Service supports Stetson University by providing a professional and welcoming environment in the role of receptionist and as first contact for the on-campus clinic. Reporting to the Director of Stetson Health Service, the Administrative Support staff will have the responsibility of assisting the health clinic. Stetson Health Service is a primary care facility on Stetson’s campus operated in partnership with Advent Health. Serving as a member of the Stetson Health Service Team, the Administrative Support staff will demonstrate empathy and professionalism, with a passion for creating a supportive environment for others while working within established guidelines and excelling at multitasking. In alignment with Stetson’s Strategic Priorities, the Administrative Support for Stetson Health Service will promote optimal health and wellness and disease prevention and provide resources about health care that are appropriate, affordable, accessible, and relevant.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Employment duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provide support services including greeting patients, scheduling, patient registration, receiving phone calls, and addressing all other customer service tasks including the use of the Electronic Medical Record: EPIC utilized by Advent Health
- Protect the confidentiality of patients in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
- Maintain knowledge of department policies and procedures and have a broad knowledge of campus resources to ensure accurate responses to inquiries and referrals
- Engage with the Campus Life and Student Success division and larger campus community
- Support the Director of Stetson Health Service and Advent Health medical providers with daily administrative needs, reporting, and special projects
- Responsible for maintenance of incoming students’ Health History Forms and Immunization records
- Participate in campus outreach events as needed including social media platforms and webpage maintenance
- Other duties as assigned

- Ability to learn easily and understand operation of online programs as well as other office equipment such as copy machines, fax machines, phone systems
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the students, faculty, staff, and alumni
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong adaptability with a flexible approach to changing priorities and challenges
- Duties require some physical effort, i.e. some standing and walking, bending, light lifting; dexterity in the operation of office equipment; extended periods of time at a keyboard; working in a busy area with many possible distractions

Required Experience
- High school diploma or GED with some college experience preferred
- At least three to five years of administrative/secretarial experience, health insurance, clinical and health experience preferred

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- Experience working in higher education or in an academic setting
- Experience working in the medical field in a front desk or customer support role
- Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records such as EPIC strongly preferred
Work Environment: This is an in-person position involving extended periods of work at a computer in a busy office environment with potential distractions.
