General Summary: This position assists the Designer and Design Director in the day-to day operations of the design department.
Major Responsibilities
Major Responsibilities
- Create swatch books for all fabrics, trim, used in design
- Maintain an up-to-date picture record of all samples and also an up-to-date file of all names and style numbers
- Check in all orders received and handle all shipping
- Keep all sample rooms organized
- Track all sample orders, and ad samples
- Collaborate in sketching and detailing
- Collaborate in designing the product line
- Create line sheets
- Preparation of correspondences, spreadsheets, and forms
- Communicate with vendors
- Assists in the confirmation process
- Assists in brand direction and trend forecasting
- Domestic and International travel
- Special projects as needed
- Other duties as required
- Ability to perform complex verbal and written communications face-to-face and in group settings
- Majority of decisions are made utilizing established policies and procedures, and concern self and/or work responsibilities only
- Work responsibilities occasionally concern confidential and/or sensitive information requiring the use of discretion
- Job duties are somewhat varied, occasionally requiring conceptualizing, planning and implementing
- Assertive self-starter with strong decision making ability
- Ability to work in a multi-task, high pressure environment
- Ability to travel as required

- College degree in Arts/Fashion preferred
- Ability to sketch and CAD
- 2-4 years experience in footwear design required.
- Creative background a plus
- Proficiency Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, Photoshop, and Illustrator
Salary : $60,000 - $70,000
