The ideal candidate will support various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations and manage contractor and sales tax licensing in various jurisdictions in the U.S. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of our financial records and assisting in internal audits, fraud prevention detection, and compliance management. Responsibilities
- Match job costs with receipts and bank statements to Quick Books
- Apply for, service and ensure sales tax licenses are current in the applicable jurisdictions we work in.
- Support accounting team to ensure Quick Books accurately reflects financial details on specific jobs.
- Support the team with ensuring our tax compliance in the jurisdictions we work in for new jurisdictions and on an ongoing basis for ones we have worked in.
- Support AP with ensuring that bills due are being managed and paid on time with approval from management.
- Support AR with managing billables, ensure invoices are issued and paid on time, keep track of past due invoices weekly
- Support AP with weekly payroll.
- Manage compliance management tasks related to financial operations.
- Process ACH (Automated Clearing House) transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Utilize financial software for data entry, analysis, and reporting.
- Participate in financial auditing processes by preparing necessary documentation and supporting materials.
- Assist Owner with managing contract compliance on select jobs, work with project managers to gain skills required top understand the 'whole picture' on projects for a complete understanding on how to manage finances for the company.
- Facilitate office wide weekly company project management meetings.
Experience
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles is preferred, however just having graduated in accounting/CPA/Bookkeeping does not eliminate you from consideration for this position.
- Familiarity with internal audits, fraud prevention detection, and compliance management is a plus.
- Strong understanding of GAAS .
- Proficiency in using financial software, specifically Quick Books for accounting tasks.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple tasks effectively.
