Sterilization Technician/ Dental Receptionist
Job Description
Are you interested in working in the dental field? We are looking for an energetic, positive person to join our team. Candidates must have a willingness to learn, complete necessary tasks, be dependable, and take direction.
This role requires the candidate to act as a Float-Hygiene Assistant in addition to a Sterilization Tech/ Front Desk Receptionist. Part of your job will include: helping at the reception desk, greeting/checking in patients, and assisting Hygienists with periodontal charting. In between patients, some of your tasks will include: replenishing supplies, sterilizing instruments after use, and preparing exam rooms.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Check patient information, health history, and insurance benefits
- Escort patients to operatory room, give pre-procedural rinse, and obtain vitals for the Dentist/Hygienist
- Prepare treatment rooms for each patient procedure and turn over operatories, transporting contaminated instruments to the sterilization area for processing
- Restock treatment areas as needed
- Sterilize all dental instruments in a timely fashion to OSHA sterilization standards
- Maintain confidential information/ HIPAA laws
- Assist with administrative tasks including answering phones, scheduling, and confirming patient appointments
- Assist other clinical staff when necessary
- Opening and closing duties (taking out garbage, sweeping, mopping, etc.)
Experience and Qualifications
- Dental office experience preferred but is not necessary (will train)
- CPR certified (preferred but not required at time of hire)
- Knowledge of sterilization methods
- Great written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Positive attitude
- Dependable
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
Job Type: Part-time/ Full-time. Must be available to work in the summer (May - August 2024)
Salary: DOE
Office hours:
- 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Monday- Thursday
- No weekends
