What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at StevenDouglas?
StevenDouglas has been retained on an outstanding Controller search in Austin, Texas. This role is in office 4 days a week, with a Friday remote option.
In order to be considered for this role, you must have the following :
- Must be an actively licensed CPA
- Public accounting foundation plus industry experience (min 7-8 years)
- Prior leadership experience
Reporting to a fantastic CFO, this role will lead the Accounting team and be responsible for the following :
- Develop and maintain the timely, accurate monthly financial close process in accordance with GAAP
- Manage receivable functions to ensure effective, timely collection of customer receivables.
- Produce reliable, accurate general ledger transactions to support financial reporting used for center-level management up through senior management, and the private equity sponsor
- Ensure the maintenance of accurate balance sheet reconciliations for all accounts and make monthly adjusting journal entries as appropriate.
- Coordinate with operations teams throughout the organization to ensure all items are properly presented and accounted for.
- Assist development with monitoring and tracking capital expenditures.
- Possess intimate knowledge of the various entities such that discrepancies from can be identified and corrected or appropriately explained
- Provide monthly financials (Balance Sheet, P&L and Cash Flow) to management for review in accordance with monthly close timeline
- Lead the Company’s annual audit process
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or business related field
- Actively licensed CPA
- Strong GAAP foundation and working knowledge
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in public accounting
- Minimum 3 years industry experience
- Prior leadership experience
Salary : $170,000 - $200,000
