StevenDouglas is seeking a Senior Accountant for a well-established and financially robust family office based in Naples, FL. Our client is engaged in private investments and entrepreneurial ventures, to support the Controller and a small executive team across multiple corporate entities. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is interested in the investment field as well as being mentored by the Controller and CFO to further develop technical accounting skills. An independent worker who is self- managed and detail-oriented, would be a best fit for this role as you will primarily work from home! You will need to be local to Naples to fulfill all the responsibilities of this role.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain investment account schedules, asset ledgers, and record transactions in the general ledger.
- Track activities among portfolio companies and analyze transactions to determine proper classification based on the nature of activity and entity relationship.
- Compile and maintain various routine financial schedules and operational reports.
- Reconcile investment account activity to ensure the accuracy of cost basis in GL and investment reporting.
- Support key corporate, divisional, operational, legal, or acquisition-related projects through analysis, reporting, presentations, etc.
- Process accounts payable (A/P) and payments for multiple corporate entities.
- Handle payroll processing for the corporate entity.
- Manage intercompany billing and cash transactions.
- Record banking activity and reconcile bank accounts; monitor cash balances to ensure adequate funding for corporate entities.
- Process monthly sales tax submissions.
- Maintain the fixed asset depreciation system.
- Administer corporate insurance and perform reconciliations.
- Handle inbound and outbound mail and packages.
- Process periodic regulatory or compliance filings.
- Assist with benefits administration and new employee onboarding.
- Maintain the shared resource calendar.
- Provide occasional administrative support, including:
- Document management and file maintenance.
- Preparing executive expense reports for approval.

Experience/ Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or a related field and/or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience, including direct experience in accounting/administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with QuickBooks preferred.
- Current Notary certification or willingness to obtain certification.
Salary : $75,000 - $95,000
