We are seeking an expert-level Linux System Administrator to join our client's dynamic team. This role involves working on critical, classified programs requiring advanced system administration and collaboration with diverse teams to deliver secure, cost-efficient IT solutions. Success in this position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, strong technical expertise, and the ability to support complex IT infrastructures in compliance with security standards.
Summary
As a Linux System Administrator, you will be responsible for the administration, implementation, and maintenance of Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments and associated systems. Your work will include troubleshooting complex IT issues, collaborating with cybersecurity teams, and ensuring the operational integrity of systems supporting classified programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive IT systems administration for Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
- Configure, administer, and troubleshoot Atlassian products such as Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket.
- Manage performance tuning, user management (e.g., LDAP), and security hardening of Linux-based systems.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts for system administration tasks and maintain RPM packages.
- Patch and maintain system integrity while meeting performance and security requirements.
- Administer and support scanning tools such as Nessus and McAfee.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure systems meet required security standards and provide documentation and training for advanced IT processes.
- Provide support for enterprise-level services, including DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory replication.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, including hardware and OS integrations.
- Support data RAID configurations, data backup technologies, and system replication methods.
- Occasionally work outside standard hours to ensure the systems' operational integrity (24 / 7 environment).

Technical Skills :
Security Clearance :
Active U.S. government TS / SCI with CI Poly security clearance (required prior to start date).
Certifications :
Active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) on the start date. Acceptable certifications include :
Security CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CySA , CND.
