We're partnering with an international, publicly-traded company on a new addition to their internal tax team. The team is well supported with internal and external resources to continuously implement upcoming tax standards and technologies. This role would be pivotal in expanding tax operations, partnering on overall tax strategy, and driving innovation of the department.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the calculation and review of quarterly non-U.S. tax provisions for foreign subsidiaries in compliance with ASC 740 standards, including managing the foreign income tax account roll forward and reconciliation process.
- Support the global tax provision process, including BEPS Pillar 2 compliance.
- Oversee and coordinate the quarterly income tax provision package for significant foreign legal entities.
- Monitor international tax developments and conduct research, modeling, documentation, and communication of proposed and enacted tax legislation, assessing their impact on the global effective tax rate (ETR), including BEPS Pillar 2.
- Collaborate with external auditors (PWC) to support and defend tax positions, ensuring compliance with internal controls and documentation requirements.
- Assist with transfer pricing, tax audits, and controversies by gathering necessary documentation for IDR requests.
- Work closely with business partners and internal stakeholders to develop and implement tax strategies that align with Corning's business objectives.
- Provide guidance and insights to finance and business leaders on complex international tax matters.
- Support tax technology initiatives, including enhancements to the OneSource Tax Provision (OTP) system.
- Review and assist with U.S. international tax compliance, including Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, 8990 series, 1118, and other relevant filings.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- CPA or Master’s in Taxation (MST) preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 8–10 years of corporate tax experience, with at least 3–5 years in a management role overseeing multiple personnel.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong expertise in ASC 740 (Accounting for Income Taxes) and SEC reporting, with experience in both public accounting and corporate environments preferred.
- Proven experience in consolidating worldwide tax provisions, effective tax rate analysis, and ASC 740 specialty areas such as purchase accounting, APB 23, interim periods, and partnerships.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex tax concepts for foreign controllers and business leaders.
- Demonstrated leadership in process improvement and automation.
- Strong proficiency in tax technology, including Microsoft Excel and OneSource Tax Provision (OTP).
Salary : $165,000 - $230,000
