StevenDouglas has been just engaged in a search for a Staff Accountant with a growing vacation rental management company. Our client is offering an excellent benefits package and hybrid flexibility.
In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and assisting in budgeting and forecasting. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, be detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication abilities.
Responsibilities
- Complete month-end close procedures, including account reconciliation, journal entry preparation, and review and analysis of revenue and expense accounts
- Prepare monthly financial reports analyzing variances in financial performance
- Identify, document and implement accounting policies and process improvements
- Assist with preparation of external financial statements and support of external audits
- Participate in cross functional company initiatives as necessary
- Utilize knowledge of US GAAP principles on a daily basis and assist with technical research as necessary
- Plan and execute monthly financial review with local operations team
- Support various departments with reporting, analysis, and special projects as needed
- Complete year-end tax forms for owners and vendors
- Assist with accounts payable processing
Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 1-3 years of accounting experience, industry accounting or public accounting experience preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of Accounting and US GAAP principles
- Possess excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively organize and present information and respond to questions
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- CPA certification a plus, but not required
- NetSuite experience a plus, but not required
- Experience in analyzing large transactional volumes, preparing trend analysis, and resolving variance issues
- Ability to think independently to solve practical problems and present solutions
