Job Description
1. To be responsible to the Executive Director and to carry out those duties assigned by the Executive Director.
2. To work collaboratively with the Executive Director in the strategic planning of the organization.
3. To lead and manage the daily operations of the organization, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery
4. To supervise program staff, providing leadership, mentorship, and training to ensure high-quality services.
5. To ensure compliance with D.A.C. policy, licensing standards, and state/federal regulations.
6. To advocate for the needs and rights of individuals with disabilities within the community, the workplace, the state, and the country.
7. To develop, implement, and evaluate programs that promote skill-building, well-being, and personal growth for individuals with disabilities.
8. To be in charge of service recipient admissions, including meetings with parents, guardians, case managers and residential providers. To see that all pertinent and required information is gathered and documented in adherence with D.A.C. policy and licensing standards, and to set a preliminary plan of service.
9. To be responsible for preparing and overseeing individual service recipient programs, incorporating goals set by the interdisciplinary team at the annual meeting along with goals developed by the D.A.C. direct service staff.
10. To prepare and oversee service recipient behavioral programs with assistance from case managers and D.A.C. direct service staff. To coordinate these with residential providers and to prepare and submit necessary behavioral reports.
11. To prepare, annual, semi-annual, quarterly progress reports as required and/or requested by case managers, ensuring timely and accurate distribution.
12. To be responsible for documentation of vulnerable adult issues, service recipient aggressions, behavioral incidents, or any incidents of sufficient magnitude to be reported to the case manager, licensing authority, ombudsman, or workers’ compensation. To see that necessary reports are sent to the appropriate party within 24 hours.
13. To maintain regular communication with residential providers, caregivers, case managers, and families regarding service recipient progress, concerns, and incidents.
14. To coordinate service recipient suspension and discharge proceedings in accordance with organizational policies and licensing rules.
15. To coordinate service recipient transportation to and from the program, community job sites, and community enrichment opportunities.
16. To provide and/or plan 245D training for staff, maintaining accurate records.
17. To stay informed of the latest programming techniques for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, incorporating them into individual programs and keeping staff updated.
