Description
Teach one section of AP Computer Science. This one section course can be placed anywhere on the school day that best meets the needs of the instructor; our school day runs from 7:50 am - 3:05 pm and the class meets 4 days per week.
Attendance at a summer Advanced Placement institute may be required.
A strong candidate for this position would have a degree in computer programming and/or industry experience.
Advanced Placement Computer Science course description: This course focuses on computer programming using JAVA, an object-oriented programming language. It is equivalent to a first-semester college level course and will cover programming methodology, algorithm design, testing methods, logical reasoning, and problem solving. Topics include data structures, conditional statements, iteration, arrays, inheritance, recursion, and object-oriented design. The course follows the syllabus recommended by the College Board.

AP Computer Science class runs 1st and 2nd semester, classes held August 18, 2025 – May 22, 2026

- Teach 1 section of AP Computer Science.
- Collaborate with colleagues, school counselors, and administrators in support of student learning.
- Plan lessons, create assignments and assessments, and develop other classroom opportunities to provide an engaging learning experience for all students.

Education and/or Experience:
Position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science/programming or industry experience. A WI DPI license and high school teaching experience is a plus, industry experience is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Highly effective communication skills, strong organizational skills, and a strong desire to assist all students to be successful are also required.
Physical Demands:
This position requires constant contact and communication with others, multitasking, repetitive motion, some standing, sitting, and bending, and requires the daily use of computers, various monitors and other office equipment.
Work Environment:
The work takes place primarily in an office/school environment.
