Description
Reports To: The Athletic Director who provides overall objectives and final evaluations in conjunction with the high school principal or designee of the principal.
Job Goal: To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the student shall receive instruction that will lead to the formation of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior and self-confidence.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Goal: To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the student shall receive instruction that will lead to the formation of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior and self-confidence.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare plans and strategies for practices and games.
- Prepare a team physically, mentally, and emotionally to effectively compete.
- Provide a safe, healthy and challenging competitive activity.
- Is proficient in their sport when it comes to W.I.A.A. regulations.
- Assist in preparation and cleanup necessary to hold a scheduled event.
- Coordinates scheduling and facilities with the Activities Office.
- Complete and submit necessary injury reports when required.
- Monitor athlete attendance, grades and behavior.
- Carry out the concepts of the activities code and rules established by the Athletic Department.
- Visibly supervise athletes at all times when athletes are present.
- Ensure athletes are cleared to practice or play after an injury.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Has the ability to organize and supervise a sports team.
- Has previous successful coaching experience in the assigned sport a bonus.
- Must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and at the same time must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the sport.
- Knowledge of rules of the activity and specific safety concerns.
- Ability to work effectively with other coaches and staff.
