ASSOCIATE II, RECREATION SUPERVISOR (MAINTENANCE)

Milwaukee Recreation is seeking a dedicated and highly qualified park maintenance professional to assist with the supervision, training, and assigning of work for a team of 10 full-time and approximately 20 part- time seasonal staff responsible for maintaining 52 outdoor playfields throughout the city of Milwaukee.
Primary responsibilities include staff supervision, training, work delegation, maintenance support, facility inspections, and assisting with vegetation management. The ideal candidate is capable of leading and supervising employees, teaching and mentoring staff, and maximizing efficiencies and productivity.

Candidates with experience in park maintenance management who are capable of advancing the care of Milwaukee Recreation’s outdoor recreation spaces to the next level are encouraged to apply.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry; Parks and Recreation Management; Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or a related field.
• May substitute eight (8) years of full-time experience in the absence of a bachelor’s degree.

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum one (1) year of full-time experience in park management including: Developing staff training; hands-on maintenance of grounds, buildings, vehicles, facilities; and experience utilizing the Microsoft Office suite and maintenance management software applications.

Certifications (and/or ability to obtain within one year of hire):

• Class C Driver’s License
• Pesticide Applicator License
• CPSI (Certified Playground Safety Inspector)
• International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist
