Description
Catholic Central High School is hiring a dynamic, difference maker as our next Athletic & Student Activities Director. We are a Catholic, College Preparatory high school in South Central Wisconsin, with 116 students and 31 professional staff serving families from 16 member parishes.
Works Collaboratively with: The Principal, Business Operations Manager, Other School Personnel, Head & Assistant Coaches, Students, Parents, Other Schools at the Conference and State Levels, Community Agencies and the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association.
Goal:
1. To provide a comprehensive athletic program which meets the competitive and holistic needs of students in grades 9 – 12.
2. To promote and enhance the personal, social, and developmental aspects of all students at Catholic Central High School.
3. To foster positive relationships with our member parish schools and other public and private schools, their coaching staff & athletes, to attract student-athletes to Catholic Central
Duties: The Athletic Director duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Responsible for coordinating all aspects of the school’s athletic program.
Responsible for administering all National Federation, Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association, Metro Classic Conference, Midwest Classic Conference and Catholic Central High School Board Policies and Manuals which design and outline athletic rules and regulations. Frequent meetings may be called to facilitate a smooth operation of these rules and regulations with coaches. Hold an annual parent/athlete meeting to go over codes, sportsmanship etc.
Prepare and administer the athletic budget for the entire athletic program.
Hire and fire all Head Varsity Coaches, subject to the Principal’s approval. All Head Varsity Coaches must approve assistant coaches with AD before hiring. Assist in the issuance of all coaching contracts. Provide coaching evaluations for head coaches. Ensures all coaches have taken any required WIAA courses and tests as well as any required school or archdiocese courses. Ensure all coaches follow all school policies and procedures as established by the CCHS school board. Ensure all coaches follow all conference and WIAA rules and guidelines pertaining to coaching.
Check on and communicate the eligibility status of all transfer students.
Administer any discipline required due to Code of Conduct violations or academic eligibility requirements.
Work with administrative assistants to ensure all athletic paperwork is received from students before their participation in a sport.
Attend monthly conference AD meetings
Attend WIAA regional and state meetings, whenever possible.
Coordinate/update the athletic calendar with the person in charge of the school calendar.
Coordinate/update summer athletic activities with the person in charge of the school calendar
Coordinate the set up of facilities for scheduled athletic activities.
Coordinate the clean up and take down of facilities after scheduled athletic activities.
Provide game management to all home scheduled events where required.
Provide tournament manager for all tournament playoff activities assigned to our school.
Oversee and designate leaders for all athletic fundraisers.
Ensure game venues are welcoming, promote good sportsmanship and provide an environment that creates a positive atmosphere for all spectators and contestants.
Provide information to local media in the area including television, radio, newspapers, and the school’s various social media outlets.
Actively market our athletic programs to help in the recruitment of students to our school. Encourage our coaches to do the same.
Oversee the organization of youth sports camps over the summer months.
Responsible for the contracting of all athletic contests scheduled.
Responsible for hiring all chauffeured transportation when needed for athletic teams.
Responsible for contracting officials for all home athletic events, in conjunction with the conference commissioner.
Responsible for visual inspections of the school's athletic facilities.
Responsible for inputting team rosters on “rSchool”.
Responsible for having seed money for gates and concession stands prior to athletic events.
Responsible for counting proceeds from gates and concession stands after athletic events.
Monitoring/coordinating weight room supervision whether before or after school.
Manage the purchasing of concession items to be sold from the concession stands.
Performs other duties as assigned by the principal.
Work Requirements:
1. Outside of regular school attendance days, the Athletic Director will work an extra week at the end of each school year, the equivalent to two days per week in the summer, and one week before the start of each school year.
2. Ability to work cooperatively with the Principal.
4. Supervising all extracurricular activities/clubs.
5. Work on national holidays may be required.
6. Maintain a strict level of confidentiality on all matters regarding school business.
