Job Description
Position Summary: The Bilingual Assistant Teacher (BAT) is responsible for assisting the Teacher in the daily programming for students enrolled at St. Joseph Academy. The role includes helping to implement a high quality program in accordance with standards set by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI), Milwaukee Parental Choice, and federal guidelines. The BAT works in partnership with the Teacher to ensure that the needs of students and their families are understood and communicated as one of the primary SJA liaisons.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
AA degree in early childhood education or related field preferred
1 years experience within early care working in a licensed childcare or elementary school setting
Bilingual speaker (Spanish) required
Exemplary interpersonal, collaborative, and planning skills
Interest and ability to support students and their families
Ability to analyze an issue, identify options, and implement solutions
Ability to work cooperatively with people in and outside of the Education/Childcare Services department
Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) and effectively interact with students, their family members, management, and staff members
Ability to respond positively to work direction and guidance from others
Ability to work independently, managing multiple demanding tasks under critical time frames
