Support the productive learning environment and nurture the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students
Be an advocate for students and families in the classroom and throughout the school
Provide instructional reinforcements under the direction of the library media specialist, classroom teacher or other certified staff when implementing lesson plans and learning objectives
Serve as a positive and nurturing guide for students
Model professional and ethical standards when interacting with students, parents, staff, and community
Job Responsibilities
Work closely with classroom teachers by assisting individuals and small groups of students with independent, academic, and social learning
Supervise, support conflict resolution, and positively engage with students during recess
Supervise students during daily scheduled recreational, instructional, and assessment activities in and out of the classroom and other school settings
Manage administrative assistant duties during identified breaks
Collaborate and communicate effectively with peers and colleagues
Support and follow School Board policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
Possess a minimal requirement of at least two years of study at an accredited institution of higher education that is equivalent to at least 48 semester hours; or hold an associate’s (or higher) degree; or pass the WorkKeys assessments of Applied Mathematics, Locating Information, and Reading for Information.
Possess the ability to perform duties with awareness of all District requirements and Board of Education policies
Possess the ability to work independently, initiate tasks, organize materials, meet deadlines, and engage with confidential information in a professional manner
Be highly skilled and knowledgeable regarding interpersonal relationships along with the ability to develop and maintain positive rapport with staff and respond as a team member
Be flexible, creative, organized, have a sense of humor, and model a positive growth mindset
Value relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and community members
Have experience with Chromebooks, Internet, and other technology resources
