Description
CESA 5 is seeking school psychologists to serve a variety of needs within our districts. This is an itinerant position. Applicants must be willing to travel to various counties 3-5 days/week.
Our school psychologists serve various functions within our districts, including assessment for IDEA and Section 504 evaluations, counseling, serving as an LEA Representative, Independent Educational Evaluations, and staff trainings among other responsibilities. Our school psych team provides a high level of support for your internship year and beyond.
Job Summary:
The School Psychologist provides comprehensive psychology services in school districts as assigned by the Agency.
Common Expectations:
1. Projects a positive attitude and image to customers, partners, and the public.
2. Possesses and demonstrates positive interpersonal communication skills.
3. Pursues continuous professional improvement.
4. Maintains confidentiality regarding internal matters of the Agency and complies with legal confidentiality requirements.
5. Complies with Agency regulations, policies, procedures, practices, and administrative directives.
6. Possesses strong organizational and time management skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Coordinates the IEP process, serves as LEA representative, and ensures due process.
2. Completes comprehensive evaluations of students.
3. Consults with staff and monitors student progress.
4. Creates and maintains student records.
5. Evaluates and interprets reports.
6. Provides direct intervention and behavioral management as directed.
7. Meets with parents and related agencies and representatives.
Secondary Responsibilities:
1. Attends all meetings called by the Director of Special Education.
2. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Possesses a valid School Psychologist License through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
2. Possesses a valid driver's license.
3. Ability to facilitate meetings and/or present information in a group setting.
4. Ability to apply in-depth knowledge of special education record-keeping, principles, practices, and procedures.
5. Ability to apply in-depth knowledge of current technology.
6. Ability to establish effective working relationships with subordinates, other staff, other agencies, and the public.
7. Ability to analyze complicated special education needs & situations and provide sound advice and recommendations.
8. Knowledge of assessments and evaluations of students ages Birth through 21.
