Under the direction of the Camp Director, this position will perform a wide variety of routine maintenance tasks designated to help maintain the YMCA camp grounds, property and equipment. and other duties as determined by the Camp Director.
Camp Glacier Hollow has a full schedule of programs during the summer months, including programs that continue on some weekends and holidays. Typical schedule for this position is 20-25 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with exact hours determined by needs of maintenance work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Mowing, raking, and minor maintenance of YMCA-owned camp properties.
- Maintain safe and clean conditions of YMCA grounds.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting in common areas, cabins, and facilities.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, shower houses, and kitchen facilities, including replenishing supplies and removing trash.
- Perform periodic deep cleaning of camp facilities, including windows, walls, and appliances.
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and safety of outdoor areas such as fire pits, seating areas, and walkways.
- Assist in set-up and clean-up for special events or programs.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies and report any needs to the Camp Director.
- Follow and enforce safety procedures, including OSHA compliance and Hazardous Material handling guidelines as indicated on SDS reports.
