Description
Pay : $12 - $14 / hour
Work Schedule (school year) : Monday - Friday 6 : 25 a.m. - 8 : 30 a.m. and 3 : 00 p.m. to 5 : 45 p.m.
During the school year, care is provided at various Stevens Point public schools, before and after school, for children in grades K-6. During the summer months when school is not in session, staff also have the opportunity to work in our full-day school age care programs held here at the Y.
As a School Age Assistant Teacher, your role is to facilitate the daily curriculum activities, ensuring that the individual interests, needs and safety of all children are met.
Requirements
Qualifications :
- You must have experience working in programs for children age 5- 12 years.
- Must meet the qualifications for Assistant Teacher under DCF 251 Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers.
- Most important, you must enjoy spending time with groups of school-age children, and have an understanding of their behaviors and group dynamics.
- High energy levels, patience, creativity, problem-solving skills, strong communication skills, enthusiasm and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- You must exhibit the Y core values of respect, responsibility, honesty and caring.
- Prior to work, all staff will be required to provide a Physician-signed health examination and complete a fingerprint background check.
