The Automotive Controller is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of our automotive operations. This includes financial planning, analysis, reporting, internal controls, and compliance. The Controller will partner closely with senior management to provide strategic financial guidance and support key business decisions. This role requires a highly motivated and experienced individual with a strong understanding of the automotive industry and a proven track record of financial management excellence.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Develop and implement sound financial policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, providing insightful commentary and recommendations to senior management.
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
- Lead the annual budget planning process and monitor performance against budget.
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations
- Partner with operational leaders to provide financial support and guidance on key business initiatives.
- Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals.
- Oversee the relationship with external auditors and manage the annual audit process.
- Analyze market trends and competitor performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Contribute to the development of long-term financial strategies.
- Manage cash flow and working capital effectively.
- Evaluate and implement new financial systems and technologies as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Experience in financial management, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective internal controls.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in automotive DMS systems, Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), and Google Suite.
- Experience with CDK and Tekion is a plus.
- Knowledge of automotive industry trends and challenges.
Salary : $90,000 - $150,000
