In this, the Science Division is proud of its progressive and rigorous construction of curriculum and team-based collaboration that serves diverse learners. The science teacher is a full-time position starting in August 2025. Candidates must have the strong content knowledge and differentiation skills to meet the needs of all students with varied backgrounds and interests. Skill in fostering student collaboration and classroom discourse will serve as an asset. Experience in collaborating with colleagues to create learning standards and common assessments, team-based remediation, curriculum, and continually improving learning strategies are needed as part of the continuous improvement mindset of teachers and teams.
Key pedagogical skills include using standards-based education models, classroom differentiation, integration of instructional technology, instruction through the lens of social-emotional learning, classroom engagement through tasks & discourse, and the design of inclusive classrooms honoring the diversity of ability, heritage, and beliefs. Teaching experience preferred (including AP courses) as is the ability to teach in more than one science discipline.

Qualified applicants will hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator's License with a secondary applicable science endorsement. Exceptional applicants have endorsements in more than one science discipline (Science -Chemistry, Science - Earth and Space Science or Science - Biology (or qualified to teach either all levels of Physics, Chemistry, Earth Science, or Biology).
