Stevenson Law Office, P.C. is looking for a Litigation Legal Assistant to become a part of our team!
We are looking for a specialized Legal Secretary to undertake a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. You will work under the supervision of multiple attorneys and paralegals and will also provide support in assigned legal cases. Candidates must have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Skills & Experience
- 3 Years of Legal Experience is a must. Litigation experience preferred.
- Familiarity with State courts.
- Must be polite and pleasant with a professional demeanor.
- Demonstrates proficiency with technology, including but not limited to Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Email (Outlook), DocuSign and Dropbox.
- High level of skill in written English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation with an eye for formatting documents and a high attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and follow-through skills, orderly and detail-oriented with ability to prioritize work with accuracy and efficiency while staying focused and calm under pressure.
- Ability to work independently, take responsibility, take initiative, problem-solve using sound judgment, and handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Oral communication and interpersonal skills to interact positively with clients, court personnel and coworkers. Must be a team player.
- Excellent computer, verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have a basic understanding of legal terminology.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to lawyers, paralegals and other administrative staff and enhance office effectiveness.
- Handle communication with clients, courts, etc.
- Produce and file various legal documents such as petitions, motions or notices.
- Conducting legal research to identify and retrieve information to support legal decision-making.
- Organizing evidence for legal proceedings, and preparing exhibits, charts, and diagrams.
- Preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions, and summarizing depositions, interrogatories, and testimony.
- Assist with answering and direct phone calls.
- Facilitate the meeting of deadlines by keeping multiple agendas and provide timely reminders.
