Position Summary
The Programmer Analyst is responsible for coordinating the successful launch and implementation of projects for the university by analyzing requests, developing solutions, and enforcing best practice processes during the scope of each project, full documentation of any new development or customization, and support of wide range of applications used throughout the University. The primary role of this position is the support of business processes for Stevenson University involving Enterprise Applications, which are normally centered around the ERP / SIS (Colleague), reporting (Informer), and integrations with other, third party systems. In addition, the Programmer Analyst is expected to adhere to commonly accepted security practices and to be aware of any security, integrity, or reliability risks.
Education / Experience
Bachelor's degree plus one year of application development programming including, but not limited to : git, PHP, Python, C#, SQL, HTML, CSS, Javascript / Typescript , Sharepoint, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge / Skills / Ability
- Excellent skills in programming, research methods, program and project analysis, problem definition and identification, problem isolation, and effective resolutions
- Excellent customer service, training, communication, and documentation skills
- Proven ability to work effectively as a part of a team as well as independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to interact well with members of the University's community
- Experience with Unidata, JavaScript, and popular frameworks (jQuery, Bootstrap) preferred
- Experience with automation and scheduling with tools such as Powershell, Task Scheduler, bash, cron, Python, and Airflow preferred
- Proficiency in areas such as the following : git, PHP, Python, C#, SQL, HTML, CSS, Sharepoint, and Bootstrap.
- Ability to identify and recommend new processes or business practices for the purpose of streamlining business processes
- Ability to design solutions, write efficient code, test and verify code results, and implement the solution
- Ability to work evenings and weekends and be on call 24 / 7
Physical Requirements
Medium work : exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally and / or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Keyboarding, standing and / or sitting, walking, talking and hearing. Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as viewing a computer terminal. Subject to both environmental conditions; activities occur inside and outside.
