Responsibilities
- Sandblast and prepare fabricated metal products for painting.
- Apply a variety of industrial coatings such as Vinyl and Coal Tar to fabricated metal products.
- Responsible for the application of industrial coatings in confined spaces.
- Read and understand technical documents such as paint mixing procedures, application of proper mils, and maintain sprayer equipment as required.
- Clean spraying equipment with solvent or other recommended cleaning solutions daily.
- Maintain the paint mix room while following the company safety policies.
- Assist in appropriately rigging large objects for the purpose of moving them in the process of applying industrial coatings.
- Keep work area clean and orderly.
- Know safety rules that apply to the safety of others and personal safety. Report malfunctioning equipment to the proper authority. Perform other work as instructed by supervision.
Qualifications
- One or more years of prior work experience as an industrial painter.
- Able to operate overhead and jib cranes.
- Able to operate and work from manlifts.
- Able to operate a forklift.
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must be willing and able to work shifts, weekends, and overtime in a heavy industrial environment.
- Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Preferred: Prior experience operating sandblasting equipment.
- Preferred: Prior experience using airless and conventional spray equipment.
- Preferred: Prior experience spraying Vinyl and Coal Tar systems.
- Preferred: Prior experience operating either overhead or jib cranes.
- Preferred: Prior experience operating a forklift.
- Minimum high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Role / Department / Location Specific Requirements
- 2nd shift: 5:30 PM - 2:00 AM, Monday through Thursday (4) 10-hour shifts, with occasional overtime on Friday or Saturday.
- Reports to the Plant Manager.
- Position is based at Plant 3 in Bainbridge, GA.
