Tool Crib Attendant

Steward Machine is a forward-thinking and expanding company seeking a dedicated Tool Crib Attendant to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes by managing and maintaining our tool inventory. The ideal candidate will work closely with programmers and department leads to anticipate tooling needs, assemble and label tool packages, and ensure all tools are in optimal condition for production. Responsibilities

• Collaborate with programmers and department leads to identify upcoming tooling needs.
• Assemble tooling packages for upcoming jobs as directed by programmers and/or department leads.
• Label tool packages for the respective jobs and identify tooling sizes.
• Verify that all tools are complete and in usable condition before issuing them for production.
• Ensure tools are calibrated and serviceable prior to distribution.
• Deliver tools or equipment to workers on the shop floor promptly.
• Ensure tools or test equipment have necessary caps and plugs before returning them to their assigned location.
• Collect and store returned tools in their proper place in the tool crib.
• Maintain relationships with outside tool salesmen to keep tooling and pricing up to date.
• Load and manage the insert vending machine, keeping an accurate count of inserts and their pricing.
• Maintain the tool crib in a clean and orderly manner.

Qualifications

• Ability to work efficiently within a team or independently.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Basic tool sharpening skills (Drill bits, Hougen bits, End mills) with training provided as needed.
• High school diploma or equivalent GED.
