Our Drivers are home every night and travel is local to the Central PA area.
Summary
The Truck Driver performs a variety of routine and complex transportation work in driving and coordinating transportation plans in support of the Construction divisions as well as performing manual labor to assist the crew on jobsites.
Essential Functions

- Perform a variety of duties in the operation of the Construction division, such as hauling, dumping, snowplowing etc.
- May plan route to insure most economical use of time and equipment.
- Obtain road construction materials from storage yard and haul to job site.
- Assist with preparing roads for surfacing; dig holes and trenches.
- Operate jackhammers, brush clippers, mowers, and other small equipment and tools to maintain streets and utility system.
- Plow snow and salt roads according to departmental policy.
- Cut trees and brush, and remove trees and weeds.
- Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to supervisor; clean equipment.
- Assist in the installing and maintenance of traffic control devices.
- Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
- Serves as a member of crew and assists with any aspects of the job as needed.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
1. Valid CDL License- Class A or B
2. Clean Driving record
Work Environment
- The work is regularly performed in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust, asphalt, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
- Occasional exposure to a variety of extreme and loud conditions at construction job sites.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Physical demands include but are not limited to lifting heavy objects, walking and standing for long periods of time and performing strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
- Lifts, push, pull or carry objects; use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively jump, sprint or throw objects.
- Excellent stamina, good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination required.
- Capable of frequently lifting or moving items up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving items up to 100 pounds.
