Job Description: We are seeking a diligent and experienced Safety Coordinator to join our team. As a Safety Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and the public. You will work closely with management and employees to implement and enforce safety protocols, conduct training sessions, and promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Provide safety training and education to employees on topics such as hazard identification, safe work practices, and emergency procedures.
- Collaborate with department managers and employees to promote safety awareness and encourage active participation in safety initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety activities, including incident reports, training records, and safety inspection findings.
- Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to safety.
Qualifications:
- Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., Certified Safety Professional) is a plus.
- Previous experience in a safety-related role, preferably in a distribution or warehouse environment.
- Self-motivated and self-managed, capable of taking initiative and prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence employees at all levels of the organization.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
