Job Responsibilities
- Install metal railings and fences according to project specifications and blueprints.
- Measure and mark installation areas to ensure precise placement and alignment.
- Cut, shape, and weld metal components using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Assemble and secure metal structures using screws, bolts, and welding equipment.
- Inspect and test installed railings and fences for stability and safety compliance.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on existing metal railings and fences as needed.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with clients and contractors to understand design requirements and preferences.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order, ensuring readiness for each project.
- Estimate material and labor costs for projects and provide accurate project timelines.
- Provide guidance and support to apprentices or junior installers as necessary.
- Document project progress and report any issues or delays to supervisors.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a metal railing and fence installer or similar role
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong understanding of metal types and properties
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Familiarity with welding and cutting techniques
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials
- Attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
