Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, management, and execution of metal fabrication projects from start to finish.
  • Coordinate with clients to understand their requirements and specifications for metal construction projects.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with designers, engineers, and architects to create project drawings and specifications.
  • Source and procure materials, equipment, and services required for project execution.
  • Supervise and manage project teams, including fabricators, welders, and subcontractors, to ensure quality standards and safety guidelines are upheld.
  • Conduct risk assessments for projects and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful completion.
  • Manage project budgets, including tracking expenditures and ensuring that the project remains within financial constraints.
  • Liaise with quality control personnel to ensure that all work meets industry standards and client expectations.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors, and maintain positive relationships with them.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards in the metal construction industry.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on project status, challenges, and outcomes.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in project management within the metal fabrication or construction industry
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and CAD software
  • Proven track record of managing all phases of project life cycle, from concept to completion
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial management
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Knowledge of applicable codes, health and safety regulations
  • PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams
  • Willingness to travel as needed for project supervision and client meetings
  • Experience with contract management and vendor negotiations
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
  • Understanding of Lean principles and practices in manufacturing is a plus
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and quality management systems
