Required Education:
High School diploma or equivalent
Position Summary:
Provides supervisory responsibility for housekeeping activities and assists director in department management.
Essential Function:
- Maintains established departmental procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, environmental and infection control standards, and hospital policies including compliance policies.
- Prepares work schedules, assigns personnel, evaluates work performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions.
- Tours and inspects project areas for quality of work performed and adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Instructs personnel in use of new equipment, cleaning techniques/methods and cleaning agents.
- Maintains inventory of cleaning materials, supplies and equipment and oversees their replacement.
- Inspects housekeeping and hospital equipment for wear, tear and replacement and prepares requisitions for maintenance or replacement.
- Maintains required records, reports and statistics as directed.
- Assures that patient information is treated as confidential information. Adheres to the policies and procedures regarding HIPAA Guidelines.
- Performs backup to other positions in the housekeeping department.
Other Job Duties:
- Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
- Always promotes good intra and inter hospital communications and relationships.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
