Description : Summary
The General Superintendent is responsible for managing field personnel in all aspects of excavation, utility work, grading, paving, asphalt and concrete projects to include client relationships, site operations, quality expectations, schedules, budgets, and profitability.
Essential Functions

- Responsible for actively tracking and monitoring daily productivity of crews and equipment usage. Stay current with required project and bid requirements to analyze daily productions to confirm budgets are met properly. Identify areas for cost reductions and report on areas of concern, and suggest necessary improvements.
- Works with other members of the project staff, including the Project Manager and Safety Director, to assure the project is completed within all safety, budget, quality, and schedule requirements.
- Works with the Project Manager to interface with Customers.
- Coordinate and schedule the day-to-day work activities of S&T labor, Subcontractors, and Vendors at the project site to coincide with the overall project schedule.
- Monitor subcontractor performance, addressing any issues or delays promptly.
- Track progress against the schedule and address any delays.
- Coordinate delivery and storage of project materials.
- Manage equipment and rental needs, assuring owned equipment is utilized before unnecessary rentals. Coordinate rental timing and returns.
- Ensure compliance with local authorities, environmental regulations, and project-specific compliance officers.
- Coordinate and supervise all snow removal operations.
- Review all work to assure quality as defined on the construction document is met.
- Conduct project site visits daily to ensure safe and quality work.
- Train and mentor foreman, operators, and laborers on the safest and most efficient method to complete the work.
- Work with HR to set up, implement, and maintain individual training / experience plans for each employee to make certain they are developing to their full potential.
- Interview and hire workers with the assistance of HR.
- Perform annual evaluations of employees.
- Handle disciplinary actions of employees with the assistance of HR.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. The days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Local travel required.
