Responsibilities:
Develop and implement an age-appropriate physical education curriculum for students in grades PreK-8.
Plan and conduct engaging physical education classes that promote physical fitness, skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Organize and supervise various sports and physical activities in the school's indoor and outdoor spaces.
Assess student performance and progress in physical education through observation, evaluation, and competency-based grading.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and encourages a healthy and active lifestyle.
Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to integrate physical education concepts into other subject areas, where applicable.
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, achievements, and areas of improvement.
Ensure the safety of students during physical education activities by enforcing rules and implementing appropriate safety measures.
Maintain and organize equipment and resources related to the physical education program.
Stay up-to-date with current trends, research, and best practices in physical education and incorporate them into teaching methodologies.
Physical Requirements:
Duties performed typically in school settings to include Classrooms, gymnasium, cafeteria, auditorium, and recreational areas.
Ability to communicate with students and adults frequently.
Lift up to 20 – 30 lbs. regularly.
