Position Title: District Sales Manager
Exempt Status: Exempt
Accountable To: VP, Field Sales
Job Summary: The District Sales manager will work directly with members of the Sales Team to establish and manage programs that will train, lead, and develop Sales to accomplish established goals for the company, as well as maximize sales revenue and business development.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
Collaborate with VP of Sales, Sales Director, and Distributor Sales team to accomplish established sales goals for the company
Manage an assigned geographic sales area to maximize sales revenues and meet corporate objectives
Establish and manage effective programs to compensate, coach, appraise and train sales personnel
Use effective time management and organizational skills
Possess problem-solving skills to provide solutions for customers
Train and develop Sales on effective methods of accounts receivable, margin management, and time and territory management
Train and develop Sales on sales penetration, new account sales and business development
Have a self-motivated and disciplined work ethic
Be friendly and customer service focused
Required Skills / Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of the retail and food service distribution business
Well versed in all aspects of food distribution marketing and sales
Strong knowledge of business analysis, business intelligence and food marketing
Problem solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trend information
Proven ability to motivate and lead others to success
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business studies preferred
At least four years of food service sales or related food service field experience required
