We are seeking a Production Supervisor to lead our 3rd shift polymer production team. This crucial role ensures the quality and efficiency of our polymer production process. The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of skilled operators, fostering a culture of safety and engagement, and ensuring production schedules are met. The essential functions of the Production Supervisor include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Operations Management
- Oversee shift assignments and prioritize production plans.
- Address and resolve issues with completed batch sheets promptly.
- Review and approve daily batch sheets and tickets.
- Support utilization of MES process.
- Leadership and Communication
- Resolve personnel issues by analyzing data, investigating problems, identifying solutions, and taking appropriate actions (training, written warnings, suspensions).
- Communicate effectively with other supervisors and departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Lead by example in supporting STI Polymer values, mission, and goals.
- Training and Development
- Oversee the development of new team members.
- Identify training needs and implement development programs for production staff.
- Train, coach, and counsel production staff to enhance their skills and performance.
- Utilize data, such as Predictive Index tools, to guide development and solve people challenges.
- Efficiency and Improvement
- Monitor production efficiency and suggest improvements.
- Implement best practices and innovative techniques to optimize operations.
- Safety and Compliance
- Enforce strict safety guidelines and company standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe plant environment, adhering to 5S standards.
- Investigate any incidents or accidents within 24 hours and implement corrective actions.
- Take immediate action to correct a known safety concern.
- Quality Control
- Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards.
- Ensure complete and accurate production paperwork, including batch sheets.
- Support root cause analysis process
- Performance Management
- Evaluate, provide feedback, and coach employee work performance through ongoing dialogue and formal review process. This will include both praise and addressing performance issues.
- Identify and address causes for employee turnover.
- Equipment and Maintenance
- Ensure the proper operation of equipment by coordinating repairs and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Experience in a leadership role or demonstrated leadership experience
- Proficient in MS Office suite: Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, etc.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Organizational and leadership abilities
- Proven ability to work on own initiative, problem solve and present potential solutions.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
