Summary
The Investment Consulting Specialist will advise Financial Advisors on institutional investment consulting relationships. This role will be responsible for completing a request for proposal (RFP) issued by an institution, review, and revision of an investment policy statement (IPS), conducting an asset allocation study, manager search and selection, portfolio construction, and performance reporting. The Specialist will also directly provide the above services or collaborate with subject matter experts from across the Stifel footprint to ensure the proper expertise, insight, and resources are brought in when needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Support SIC team efforts to achieve our mission of providing high-quality investment consulting services to Stifel FAs and their institutional clients.
* Assist with qualification of requests for proposal (RFPs) to ensure alignment of requested services with Stifel capabilities.
* Complete qualified RFPs, including those for investment consulting, investment management, and other investment-related mandates.
* Assist with building out and maintaining a database of RFP responses.
* Collaborate with various Stifel teams on RFP questions specific to their expertise.
* Collaborate with the Stifel CIO Office to complete or assist with the following:
* Reviewing and creating revision recommendations for investment policy statements (IPS).
* Asset allocation studies.
* Manager search and selection reports.
* Portfolio construction recommendations.
* Collaborate with Platform Strategy on creating and revising performance report templates using Addepar.
* Assist in the creation of marketing materials for SIC.
* Assist in building and maintaining SIC page(s) on Stifel Portal, our intranet system.
* Effectively manage workload to meet deadlines / due dates while collaborating with SIC and other Stifel team members to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.
* Assist in developing processes that enable efficient and effective delivery of all SIC services.
* Build relationships with Stifel FAs and home office associates to advance the SIC mission.
* Serve as point person SIC on all matters related to our services.
* Gain an understanding of the Stifel organization, our advisory programs, and fee schedules that our institutional clientele will utilize.
* Attend client meetings, both virtually and in person, when needed.
Qualifications
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks throughout the day or week with conflicting deadlines and overlapping priorities.
* Detail oriented.
* Strong written communication skills.
* Ability to communicate verbally clearly and concisely.
* Ability to vary their communication to a specific audience providing a succinct high-level overview to particular audiences and going in-depth on key issues with others.
* Ability to work independently while being aware to ask for guidance when needed.
* Experience in the securities brokerage, financial services, or investment industry.
* Team player with a positive attitude willing to do the work required to build a new offering and develop a successful line of business for Stifel.
* Detailed knowledge of, or the willingness to learn, the institutional investment consulting industry and process.
* Experience completing RFPs or similar documents is preferred.
Education and Experience
* Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
* Minimum Required: 3-5 years of investment industry experience.
Licenses and Credentials
* Minimum Required: Series 7, 63, and 65 or 66 or must obtain within one year of hire.
Systems and Technology
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
