About the Job

The Director of Data Strategy and Analytics will lead our data initiatives, oversee the development and implementation of data strategies, ensure data integrity, and leverage data to drive business decisions. This strategic role combines technical expertise with business acumen to transform our data landscape from legacy systems to a modern, scalable architecture.

What We're Looking For

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of AWS-based data lakes, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and can support large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
  • Lead data transformation processes from MS SQL servers to the AWS data lake.
  • Lead the design and optimization of ETL pipelines to process data from batch feeds and streaming.
  • Oversee the curated data processes from raw data sources to structured data solutions.
  • Develop and enforce a comprehensive data governance framework ensuring data security, privacy, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Spearhead best practices for data quality, lineage, and metadata management.
  • Develop and implement DataOps / DevOps practices and tools to automate data workflows and improve data delivery cycles.
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data needs and provide data-driven insights.
  • Drive the adoption of data analytics and business intelligence tools.
  • Leverage Advanced AI and machine learning techniques to enhance data analysis and decision-making processes.
  • Manage and mentor a team of data professionals.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior data leadership role.
  • Strong expertise in AWS services (S3, Glue, EMR, Athena, Lambda, Lakeformation) and MS SQL.
  • Experience building AWS data lakes.
  • Excellent understanding of data transformation processes.
  • Proficiency in data analytics and business intelligence tools.
  • Experience with real-time data processing frameworks.
  • Strong background in data modeling and database design.
  • Proficiency in modern data architecture patterns.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Track record of successful enterprise-wide transformations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with data governance and compliance standards.
  • Experience implementing data as a product to an enterprise.
  • Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence applications.
  • Technical expertise in data engineering, including ETL processes and data pipeline management.
  • Familiarity with financial services regulatory requirements.
