Job Description:
The IT & Security Operations Analyst uniquely combines the roles of onsite IT Helpdesk Support Analyst and Associate SOC Analyst, providing both direct technical support and cybersecurity threat monitoring. This position is ideal for professionals passionate about technology, eager to learn cybersecurity fundamentals, and committed to excellent client service.
Responsibilities:
Onsite IT Helpdesk Support:
- Provide onsite and remote technical support to clients, resolving hardware, software and network-related issues promptly and effectively.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues via phone, email, remote support tools and onsite visits.
- Log and maintain detailed documentation of all support requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in ConnectWise to ensure accuracy in tracking and reporting.
- Guide clients through system configurations, software installations, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Monitor IT systems proactively and address potential issues before they impact operations.
Associate SOC Analyst Duties:
- Monitor and analyze cybersecurity alerts utilizing SIEM and EDR tools.
- Perform initial triage, investigation, and documentation of security incidents.
- Escalate critical security incidents to senior analysts as needed.
- Address proactive security tickets and tasks, assisting clients in maintaining secure environments.
- Document clear, concise incident reports and findings within SOC management platforms.
- Support continuous improvement by providing insights into detection rules and monitoring practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Prior experience in IT support, helpdesk, or technical support roles required.
- Familiarity with operating systems, hardware, software applications, networking fundamentals, and remote support tools.
- Interest in or basic experience with cybersecurity principles and tools (SIEM, EDR solutions such as CrowdStrike).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and efficiently.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A , Network , Security , or CrowdStrike Falcon Administrator are strongly preferred, but we’re willing to train the right person.
- Experience or interest in MacOS environments is a plus.
