Purpose
To provide leadership and operational support for demand planning and order demand management. To ensure product availability at branch/distributor locations at lowest total cost and qualitative execution of central branch administrative functions in a timely manner. Manage day-to-day priorities and duties including analysis, evaluating performance, hiring, training, counseling, employee relations, ensuring data/system integrity, work assignments and IT projects. Responsible for reporting on forecast updates; timely shipments to distribution; management reporting; forecast accuracy; planning quality; excess/obsolete stock; service availability; fill rate; and other ad hoc projects as needed.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for optimizing processes and system tools related to demand planning, order management, field stock, finished goods (FG) import stock, sales master data, customer forecast quality and supply chain speed/flexibility. Considers future platforms, technologies and enhancements to systems for continuous improvement.
- Responsible for timely operational, annual, and mid-term demand forecast reviews, updates, accuracy, analysis, reporting for all finished good items. Plays a key role in the development of branch and distributor annual sales plans. Works closely with branch management and senior management in determination of demand projections.
- Responsible for branch procurement of finished goods and spare parts from STIHL Inc., as well as certain outside vendors.
- Responsible for procurement of imported FG; direct shipment scheduling; product availability; resolve issues between operations and customer requirements.
- Communication with counterparts in Germany, Product Management, IT, Production/Procurement Planning, Logistics, Engineering Data Management, Branch/Distributor management, and senior management.
- Responsible for various reports related to branch/distributor planning and sales results
- All other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Specifications
- BS or BA, MBA in Business Studies or a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- SAP SD or APICS certified preferred
- Work experience in at least two of the following areas: sales operations, sales, customer service, supply chain management, master data management. Practical experience in ERP, forecasting, MRP software and Power BI reporting
- MS Office proficiency (Excel in particular) required
- Previous leadership experience required
- 5-7 years of related work experience is required
- Up to 25% travel required
